Spotlight story: A Vision for Africa

Last weekend we had a fun Saturday afternoon sharing and talking about our visions for Africa. Obviously, I believe in technology as being one of the main elements to turn current and future challenges into fruitful opportunities. We have to empower the local visionaries to build and scale their solutions which will turn them into role-models, giving back to their community and empowering the next generation. Down the road, I envision a free, strong, smart, proactive and tech-savvy Africa, based on its own unique ecosystem. A global marketplace and innovation leader with outstanding home-grown solutions. An inspiration to the world, a light-house to the developing world. Africa, a class of its own. A global brand to be proud of.

Did you know: The Size of Africa

It’s funny that people talk about Africa as if it would be one country. Latest observation: listen closely to the moderators of a football match this World Cup when a team from Africa is on the field. But hey, Africa is not comparable with your country my friend… it’s much bigger than your whole continent! To be exact, we are talking about 30,301,600 sq km. The image above will give you an idea of how things look like when put in perspective.
